I’m a member of London Branch of SHA and have been actively involved in NHS campaigning for many years since retiring from work in NHS and social care.  I’m secretary of the local Hackney Branch of Keep Our NHS Public (KONP), and through this, as part of NELSON – East London NHS campaigners challenging the local STP. I’m Hackney’s delegate on KONP national Steering Group and am also on the KONP EC.  Like everyone, I am appalled by the scandalous underfunding of the NHS. I am very concerned at Naylor’s proposals to sell off £5.7bn worth of NHS estate, and, most of all,  that commercial procurements for Integrated Care Partnerships (ICS / ACO by another name) are likely to lead to widespread privatisation of whole swathes of our NHS.  No one doubts the need for well-coordinated care; this can be achieved by ending marketisation and commercial contracts for NHS services and through new legislation on lines of the NHS Reinstatement Bill.
