We are so used to the attacks on the NHS from the Daily Mail that we forget that it can be merciless to private medicine too. Welsh Government response to Daily Mail claims There are nearly 1,400 people in Wales who have been waiting more than a year to get NHS treatment, recent Lib-Dem figures show. In England there are 574 people waiting that long to be seen by a doctor, Jeremy Hunt said in August. The Daily Mail never fails to excel in biased, nasty and downright misleading reporting. This is the price we pay for a free press but its diatribe against the NHS in Wales is a new low. Apart from the pathetic quality of its research, this type of reporting sows unjustified fear and worry amongst unfortunate Welsh Daily Mail readers.
