People find the ketogenic diet, or keto for short, interesting because of two main reasons – it burns body fat faster than most diet regimens, and it allows one to devour yummy and filling snacks while the body keeps the optimal ketone levels.

Below are some delicious and easy-to-make snacks you can add to your keto menu.

1.Veggie chips

Ditch those MSG-filled potato snacks as you begin your keto-based diet. Opt for homemade veggie chips instead – they’re certainly healthier and lower in carbohydrate content, perfect to jumpstart your weight loss journey.

Veg

There are tons of vegetables that you can use as a substitute for potato chips. You can try radish, cucumber, tomatoes, eggplant, cabbage, zucchini, and my personal favorite, kale. These greens have very low carbohydrate content, making them essential parts of your keto menu.

Season them with sea salt and pepper, drizzle with olive oil, and pop them into your oven until crispy to satisfy that potato chip craving. If you’re feeling a little fancy, you can even add a dash of smoked paprika or sour cream for added flavor. Of course, you can never go wrong with cheese, so sprinkle that cheddar or parmesan and enjoy your healthy, keto-friendly snack.

2.Avocados

When it comes to planning your keto menu, you can never go wrong with avocados! Significantly rich in good fats with very low carb content and essentially devoid of cholesterol, avocado is every keto dieter’s best friend. However you want to consume this wonder fruit, you sure are getting your low-carb intake in check.

Avocado

Prep your avocado toast for brunch or snack on your veggie chip with guacamole on the side for that midnight craving – the keto possibilities with avocados are endless. Another great item to pair with your avocado are cheese crisps. That’s right, sliced cheddar cheese baked to the ultimate crispiness, dipped or topped with some avocado goodness! There’s just one word for it – yum!

3.Almond butter brittle

Satisfy your sweet tooth minus the guilt with almond butter brittle, which is basically what its name is – almond (or cashew) butter mixed with some sugar-free chocolate and coconut oil frozen to luscious perfection. Slice them into bite-sized pieces and munch as you wish without failing your keto diet. You can also place some crushed pecans for added texture and crunch!  Or splash a pinch of chocolate sea salt for additional chocolatey flavor — personal favorite is from Perfect Keto, read more about the brand here: Perfect Keto Review: Everything You Need To Know About This Brand.

A quick note, though – stay away from regular peanut butter, or any peanut product for that matter. Although they’re rich in fat, they also are high in carbs. Thus, stick to cashews or almond for that nut butter goodness.

4.Pork rinds

I can sense some eyebrows raising now. Pork rinds on a diet menu? Is that for real? It certainly is in the keto world. Pork rinds are obviously rich in fat and protein, yet surprisingly contain no carbs at all. So yes, this traditionally unhealthy snack may be your best pick if you’re serious about your keto menu. Thus, if you’re craving for that crunch in your afternoon snack, grab that pork rind and feel absolutely no guilt!
