Building a progressive health movement in  a time of austerity and social exclusion.

UK People’s health assemblies, a regular feature of the PHM, are national event bringing together health and social activists, academics, trade unions, students, community health and development practitioners to dialogue and network; share experiences; analyse the health crisis; and develop collective strategies and positions to challenge, redirect and re-inspire. The focus will be on ‘building a progressive health movement in a time of austerity and social exclusion’. However, 2nd PHA is not just about developing and strengthening our movement. It is also about impacting directly in the struggle for social justice: health for all, decent living and working conditions for all, equity and environmental justice.

The assembly will offer a dynamic space where you can contribute to the discussions in more ways than one. You (or your organisation/ group) could share your story or present alternatives and progressive ways in which you have challenged austerity and exclusion throughout the UK. If you would like to contribute, please provide a brief summary of your thoughts and we will revert with suggestions on how best to integrate it within the programme.
