This session will focus on primary care in Manchester, particularly GPs and will have three parts:
1. Bernard Leach has been interviewing and recording older members of Chorlton Good Neighbours to get their memories of going to the doctor in their childhood, particularly before the NHS was created. He will introduce this and discuss some of the issues raised
2. Martin will give some background on how the GP system has changed over the years and will also bring this up to date by outlining the future shape of primary care with clinical commissioning groups in central and south Manchester
3. We will aim to have a small group discussion around questions arising our of issues raised by the presentations
