Dr Ivan Benett, Central Manchester Clinical Commissioning Group will talk about:
- Current challenges to the Health care System – variation in health outcomes, performance and access. Zero real growth in spending. Estimated 30% waste in the system. Operation of monopolies and cartels in health care provision
- Health reforms offer an opportunity to rebalance the system, raise standards and quality (effectiveness, safety and patient experience), challenge inefficiencies and reinvest to close the gap in inequalities.
- Taking the reforms further – resource allocation based on need; break up Primary Care cartel; greater emphasis on personal responsibility for health prevention and use of resources.
