EVENT IN SUPPORT OF THE NHS BILL SECOND READING

Allyson Pollock and Peter Roderick (NHS Bill Reinstatement Campaign leaders), and Margaret Greenwood (MP Wirral (LP sponsoring the NHS Bill) have welcomed the offer from Keep Our NHS Public and Health Campaigns Together to organise a supporting rally outside parliament on Friday 4th November.

This is a repeat format of the rally 13 July for the National Health Service Bill 2016-17 presented by Margaret Greenwood under the 10-Minute Rule procedure. And again we held a very good event in collaboration with 999 and others on 11th March 2016 when Caroline Lucas led wonderfully an excellent 17 minute debate.

You can see via the link below information about the Parliamentary journey so far of the NHS Bill 2016-2017

http://services.parliament.uk/bills/2016-17/nationalhealthservice.html

You will also see from the next link (and copied info at the end here) that the bill is 4th on the list of 7 private members bills.

DO NOT DESPAIR therefore – whilst it is EXTREMELY unlikely that the bill will be taken, we all have agreed to mark the day with a public display of support at Parliament. After 4th November, should the Bill not be taken (as is most likely) please note that the Campaign will push for the next opportunity to present the Bill, which is not going away!

From previous experience, the private members bills day starts around 10am and goes on till possibly 13.30/14.00

Bring campaign banners, placards etc.

There will be at least one megaphone available for speeches for the duration of the rally
