Today, supplements play an important role in our life. When we talk about the UK, a study carried out in 2012 states that ₤385 million is spent by people only to buy vitamins. The data showed an increase of 2.7 percent compared to the previous year.

If you take the supplements in proper proportion, then they can be a good addition to your diet. If you are the kind of the person who mostly consumes processed foods or if you are not getting enough nutrients from your food, then taking a supplement something like a multivitamin, can be a good idea.

Now the problem is that there are a number of supplements available in the market, so how can you know which one works best for you?

Most of the supplement providers in the market try to attract a large number of people towards them telling that their supplements contain a number of nutrients. They even try to convince people that taking more supplements is better for health.

This may not always be true. The amount of nutrient that you take is not important, rather how bio-available it is and what its form is what counts. Moreover, if you take a single nutrient, it may even create an imbalance in your body.

When it comes to certain nutrients, you need to measure it properly to avoid any potential risk to your body. For example, if you take elemental calcium in an amount more than 500 mg, then it can be the reason for cardiovascular issues.

Another important thing is that many of the low-quality supplements which are available in the market are made up of synthetic isolates which has no positive effect on the body.

What really Synthetic Isolates are?

If you are the kind of the person who has been purchasing low price supplements from some discounted stores, then it is time for you to make the change. Most of these cheap products contain synthetic vitamins or synthetic isolates.

Synthetic vitamins are partial vitamins which are produced by combining with some chemicals. They are the replacement for real, whole and complete food. They are not at all natural and are not found in nature.

So let’s see why you should not go for synthetic vitamins

  • They are the imbalanced form of vitamins. They provide some nutrients in high quantity while others in low.
  • The sad part is that only a small part of these nutrients are absorbed and utilized by your body.
  • There is more chance that the additives used in this synthetic vitamins can cause harm to your body as they may have side effects.
  • When it comes to human body, they are made to consume the whole form of food. The reason is very simple, the whole food contains minerals, vitamins, antioxidants as well as enzymes together and so they work together to provide your body with essential nutrients.

Studies state that the synthetic vitamins that you consume is considered by your body as foreign substances and so chances are there that it can create problems.

How to identify high quality supplement

If you are planning to take a supplement to get enough nutrients, you must do a good research before buying one. Make sure to look for following things in a supplement:

  • Get nutrient in its natural form. Make sure that it contains whole food instead of synthetic isolates.
  • The supplement comes from a reputed brand. For example buy from Health Monthly and get a reduction in the total cost by using Health monthly voucher code.
  • Every phase of production from making ingredients, manufacturing, quality check – goes through scrutiny.

Better look for a company which has been providing good quality products for a long time.

Remember that supplements are not the replacement for healthy organic food. So better start eating healthy instead of taking supplements.

  1. Robert Jones says:

I think the most useful advice in this piece comes right at the end – better start eating healthy (I’d have preferred ‘healthily’, mind you) instead of taking supplements. Your diet should contain all the vitamins and nutrients you need, except in certain rather rare circumstances (and you’d know about those if they applied, because you’d be ill). Taking extras that you don’t need won’t confer any benefits – they’ll go right through you as surely as pill-popping practitioners will go through your bank balance.

Trouble is of course that these days, some people don’t have time to cook or plan their meals, and so don’t get the nutrition they require – I’m really very uncertain about dietary supplements being any part of the answer to that problem. If anything, they compound it.

  2. We believe that everybody desires a well-toned, muscular and healthy body. Luckily, there are many methods to achieve that great body and among the methods include incorporating top legal roids in the diet and workout exercises. Lawful steroids help in speeding up the toning and bodybuilding process because they burn fat fast and convert it into muscle within a short time. However, note that not all steroids pass the required health and legal standards therefore before buying the products, make sure to buy only legal substances.
