Valuing a diverse workforce in the NHS

Coventry Quaker Meeting House Saturday 10th July 11am-3pm

This event is designed for NHS and other health and social care staff who come from what is called a minority background. Mostly we will be addressing ethnic diversity, but the issues in relation to other sorts of minorities are not very different.

The main issues we plan to address are

Uniting Policy & Practice; - whyis the NHS still snow capped?

Improving quality of services through valuing and rewarding staff ;

The role of the unions and HR in staff  disputes.

Using data and information (staff surveys)

David Amos - David has had an extensive career in human resources leadership and management. After ten years in hospital general management, he has been an HR director at two teaching hospitals including five years on the board at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He spent five years at the Department of Health, which included being the Deputy Director of HR for the NHS. He has just spent a year at The Cabinet Office leading a project to promote jobs and skills across the public services during the economic downturn. David's presentation
